Abstract
The paper analyzes the relationships between democracy and dictatorship in Schmitt's Constitutional Theory. In so doing, some fundamental passages of his masterwork - Doctrine of the Constitution - are examined. The paper moves on to focus on the concept of representation provided by Schmitt. Such a concept is regarded by Schmitt as the way to turn democracy into a dictatorship, by changing representation into pure sovereignty.
