Abstract

The article presents and comments on the Italian case-law involving the unequal treatment in employment and occupation on the grounds of sexual orientation, one of the areas in which EU law has had a bigger impact, ensuring equal dignity for homosexual workers. In doing that, the paper also provides a brief analysis of the general framework at supranational level and explores the common evolution of both levels of case-law or their influence. The article concludes with some reflections on the difference protection provided for sexual orientation and gender identity in the field of labour.
