The foster care system realizes the right of the child to grow in a family environment, when his or her natural family is temporarily not able to handle his or her best interest, but also because it activates relations, connects the world of the natural family with that of the foster family, socials services, etc. when it helps building bridges among foster families that support each other in their experiences, in order to face difficulties, and that can serve as a starting point for wider forms of solidarity among families. This article briefly comments the latest national results (September 2018) regarding children in the foster care system and presents a reflection on the theme of the significance of personal and family relations and ties, during and even after the family foster experience.
