Abstract
The literature concerning the process from discrimination to social inclusion of the persons with disabilities is vast, rich and complex, gaining from different perspectives and approaches. The article suggests that a further and useful contribution to the debate can be represented by the historical-institutional view explored in "I ciechi dai ghetti ai diritti. L’Istituto David Chiossone dal 1868 al 2018" (Il Mulino, 2018), by A. Giordano and M. Pasini, a book in which, concentrating on a specific institution, the (often bumpy) route “from charity to parityµ is finely reconstructed and deeply analyzed.
