Abstract
The essay discusses some of the possible paths that the Public Administration reforms may take in reaction to the pandemic. Criticizing the idea of “phasesµ that characterized how the crisis has been interpreted, it aims to discuss not the contingent measures taken to respond to the emergency, but what has to be planned as permanent solutions to modernize public institutions. Therefore it identifies and examines the need for a stronger public sector, re-thinking the relationship with science and technology and the extraordinary availability of financial resources as distinguishing features that emerged in this year and may represent for the reformers.
