Abstract
The first part examine of the law concerning access to and quality of public sector information concerning, in particulary, the quality of data held by public sector bodies, the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 1998 and the ownership and properterial rights of data and of information collected, obtained or held by the public sector. The second part examine the following deals with the UK's implementation of the European Directive on the re-use of public sector information under SI 2005/1515 (the Regulations) and how public sector bodies (PSBs) covered by the Regulations should best meet the obligations contained in the Directive. We also report on the practices of such bodies in the two years since the Regulations came into force on 1 July 2005.
