Abstract

The recent flows of migrants, whatever the reason that has driven many non-European citizens to reach the European Union, has questioned various aspects in relation to migration. Among them there is the theme of the integration of migrants in the States of arrival and of stay, despite of their legal status (refugees, asylum seekers or economic migrants in regular position). The article aims to analyse the nature of the European Union action on Integration: what is the legal basis, is it a EU Policy or an EU Action? Furthermore, it focuses on the rights recognised by the Treaties and the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights to the concerned third country nationals and on their obligations.
