Abstract
The essay examines the historical period from the fall of the Fascist regime to the birth of the Republic, analyzing the constitutional features of the Kingdom of the South, the socalled provisional Constitutions and the significance of the republican choice. The analysis is conducted by following a literary play which symbolizes that period of Italian history.
