Abstract
Reform of the Nationality Law, with special regard to the adoption of Ius Soli provisions, has been long debated in Italy, with many legislative proposals addressing this controversial issue. The article aims to focus on the frequent banalization occurring in the public debate on nationality reform, which often resorts to uncritical mention of foreign experiences, superficial use of legal categories, and generic reference to moral imperatives and functional considerations.
