Abstract

What does a «good story» mean? An engaging and exciting story or simply a true story? In April 2021, «Time» spoke about a genuine docu-mania on the streaming platforms. Seriality offers the documentary the primary means of involving the viewer through the mechanisms of storytelling, In the guidelines for commissioning mini-documentaries, the BBC itself emphasises the «bingeability value», the capacity to push for compulsive viewing of a television series. But the excess of storytelling techniques can be a problem if we tell a true story? And this problem also concerns journalism? Two docuseries, SanPa (Netflix) and Veleno (Prime Video), seem to change the Italian televised narrative on the real facts
