Abstract

The interview with Simona Sala is a testimony of a woman journalist who has come to play a strategic role in the rather closed world of Italian radio and television journalism. Her witness and personal and professional life story proves a complex and exemplary path, which has seen her involved in various activities to enhance the competence and potential of women in Italian audiovisual production contexts. In addition to her personal and professional trajectory, the interview aims to highlight what often remains in the shadows or risks being taken for granted: the relationship with male colleagues; the mistrust with which a woman is greeted in top management roles; the struggle to obtain and, above all, to preserve relevant roles within large media companies, while respecting the balance with other social roles, such as family and motherhood.
