Abstract
With journalism being affected by digitalisation and polarisation, by the crisis of traditional revenue streams, and with activists having an unprecedented access to media platforms, the relationship between activism and journalism has shifted, leading to a hybridisation between journalism and activism. This study investigates the process of hybridisation between activism and journalism in Italy, through the eyes of journalists. The 19 semi-structured interviews conducted explore how the relationship between activism and journalism is contributing to important changes related to journalistic practices, values and perspectives, in a context in which the line that separates journalism from activism is becoming increasingly blurred
