Abstract
This article aims to analyze the impact of European Commission's initiatives on european citizens' public opinion. Following the decision of the Commission to improve the communication of European Union with its citizens, numerous initiatives were implemented in order to let citizens have their say on the future of Europe, through civic engagement. Citizens' Dialogues and Transnational Citizens' Dialogues are among the initiatives that could engage citizens and help create an european public sphere. This paper tries to focus on the ways these event formats can help and be implemented to re-engage citizens before 2019 European Elections, bypassing euroscepticism and driving democratic change in Europe.
