Abstract
This paper presents a review of the development of international statistics on cultural production from 2000 to 2020 when the main lines of international cultural statistics and the roles played by different international organisations were set. It suggests that – as it happened in those decades – future «Big Data» approaches to business analysis maybe able to address continuing problems of «partial» cultural industries and increase coherence between «cultural» or «copyright» industries. Online cultural activity will require new statistical measures.
