Abstract
This article aims to provide evidence of how the topic of emerging cultural professions, and the related issue of their training pathways, is subject to continuous, rapid and significant transformations. Building on the main findings of the previous survey «Mapping Emerging Cultural Professions and Their Training Paths», it aims to demonstrate the impact of international scenarios and the country’s economic, political, institutional and social evolution on the characteristics and dynamics of cultural work. Through a series of interviews with five privileged witnesses, experts in the field of high professionalism, it therefore seeks to understand how much this has changed, in what direction and with what results. The interviews conducted, structured around five main issues, largely confirm the picture proposed in the Mapping. In particular, an urgent need for change emerges: training of new professionals; strengthening of existing ones; refinement and diffusion of rarer skills.
