Abstract

Companies are starting to produce records, as a function of supporting the business when feel the need to control and monitor in a systematic way the performance of its business. Even today the functions related to accounting and budget retain their centrality in the formation of the first and are the sources which is used for the reconstruction of historical detail of a company. The archive is also a vehicle of transmission of knowledge. The summary we propose relies on traditional typological groups belonging to Italian producers of subjects: the archives of the banks, insurance records, the archives of industrial enterprises. There is still everything to develop a system to safeguard territorial integrity of the archives of the business. The project of the Directorate General of archives for the creation of a portal dedicated to the archives of businesses under the new initiatives for the web is an encouraging sign.
