Abstract
This article deals with the issue of editorial intermediation, assuming that a text cannot be presented in a truly neutral form. The paratextual elements of a book influence its reception and interpretation, and suggest to the reader particular expectations concerning the texts. The author confutes the thesis according to which the absence of any traditional editorial intermediation stands for total freedom of interpretation.
