Abstract

The article reviews the problems of those who, due to their sexual orientation, find themselves homeless or dealing with serious housing problems, using the existing European, US and Canadian academic and policy making literature. It briefly illustrates the housing projects that have been implemented in Italy and in Europe specifically aimed at young LGBT+ people to then reconstruct the events that marked the birth, implementation and development of ToHousing, a Turin cohabitation project that offer hospitality, support, care and multiple reintegration opportunities to young LGBT+. Conclusions outline which are the main aspects that can orientate Italian policy makers in increasing young LGBT+ at homelessness risk.
