Abstract

This article deals with the establishment of a new regional figure, responsible for guaranteeing infants and adolescents' welfare, focusing on how this authority was developed and the currant state of the art. Even before this figure emerged, our country assisted in a widespread development, especially at the local level, of independent organizations for defending children and adolescents wellbeing. More precisely, we assisted to the affirmation of various regional realities responsible for the protection of children's rights. The creation of commonly shared guidelines is catalyzed by the actions of the national conference for childhood and adolescence welfare, which focuses on local cooperation. The positive actions generated by this, represents the best moment to expand areas of legal protection.
