Abstract
The concept of personalisation seems a key-word for social innovation. Nevertheless, despite its circulation in many papers and in many spheres (from social policies to marketing) practical experiences are very limited. British social policies are an exception. Thorough the personal budget tool, they try to realise person centered services and have offered the possibility for empirical evaluations. The paper presents an introduction to the debate on personalisation, offering a synthesis of the main empirical evidence on personal budget.
