Abstract
This work presents the results and issues arisen from 15 in-depth interviews concerning health perception and socio relational needs within the prison setting, conducted inside and around the G. Dozza Prison in Bologna, Italy. The interviews aim to identify different point of views and involved inmates, professionals, and volunteers. This article attempts to provide a definition of health as seen by soft and hard law, both internationally and locally, and its protection in Emilia-Romagna and Bologna.
