Abstract
Over the past two decades, the continuous influx of refugees in Calabria has promoted in the smaller and abandoned villages of the Region innovative housing and regeneration policies, that recognize these arrivals as an opportunity for innovation. This paper focuses on the mechanisms that led to this political changes and new patterns of settlement, assessing their strengths, but also discussing the broader processes that continue excluding and segregating refugees settled in Calabria.
