Abstract
The paper proposes an interpretation of the Italian academic debate concerning the national labour market and its reform process. It contextualizes the literature both within the supranational debate and national reform process. Policy change have had an incremental and path dependent shape, whilst, from a discursive perspective, there has been a paradigm shift and therefore a convergence towards the supranational debate: the discursive foundations of an alternative paradigm.
