Abstract

This contribution aims to provide a general framework for the papers that will follow in this thematic issue of the Journal. First, a literature review about the reorganization of welfare systems is presented in order to highlight the trends of changes and reforms, investigated in the European context. Secondly, a cross-sectional reading of the papers is presented, focused on the similarities and specificities individuated by the authors. Finally, a short reflection deals with the future perspectives of the global dynamics and the local dimension of welfare systems.
