Abstract
Social exclusion is one of the challenges posed by an ageing society. The Information and Communication Technologies (Icts) may play an important role in contrasting older people’s social exclusion, offering additional means to contrast loneliness and social isolation in old age. Using data from the Eurostat Community Statistics on Information Societies (Csis) and the Italian Multipurpose Survey, this paper provides a quantitative overview of older people’s Ict use and explores the factors associated with its use.
