By exercising an active role local authorities and civil society can support the design of reintegration. This article focuses on the experience of a service developed in Bologna and, starting from this case study, methodological criteria are analyzed, highlighting constraints, contradictions, potentials and challenges of the involvement of local authorities in the accompaniment to the exit from prison.
