Abstract
This article examines how breaking decorum, or deviating from the norms of propriety known as ‘impropriety’, can be used as a form of resistance. It focuses on indecency, particularly how the body is involved, and looks at expressions from past and present sexual dissident movements such as drag (queen, king, queer) and the Gazolines in France. The article explores issues such as challenging gender norms and questioning the rules of behavior in different spaces. It emphasizes the instances that make up subjectivity and how rigid gender roles can obscure them
