Abstract
This paper is based on an original analyses developed using the payment flows of our corporate customers through the Group’s network. It allows us to reconstruct the supply chains and to estimate the average distances between buyer and supplier. This exercise shows that proximity is a major factor for numerous districts, as were longstanding relationships. On average, district firms source from a shorter distance than non-district companies and rely on long term relationships
