Abstract
The paper discusses the most recent Italian policy that is dealing with territorial marginality, namely the National Strategy for Inner Areas, with the aim of highlighting the differences between its first (2014-2020) and second (2021-2027) phase. Indeed, being part of the European Cohesion Policies, the Strategy refers to the EU programs 2014- 2020 and 2021-2027. The comparative analysis between the two periods is elaborated by discussing the various aspects of the Strategy: from its classification of marginality to the elaboration of intervention policies, from its funding to the monitoring approach
