Abstract

Sustainable urban mobility is one of the main goals of the 2021-2027 European economic programming cycle. Calabria has defined its public investment plan in sustainable urban mobility along a line of action that preserves the traditional metropolitan connection system in urban areas. On the other hand, the plan’s priorities put the implementation of the «Mobility as a Service» (MaaS) model at the center of urban mobility planning towards the integration into a single platform of all modes of transports of cities. The paper highlights this plan’s peculiarity and proposes some insights from the ongoing evaluation of sustainable mobility policies in the 2014-2020 programming cycle. The findings of the evaluation provide useful indications both in the conclusion stages of the 2014-2020 cycle and also guide the policy maker in the design of new policies.
