Abstract
In this review, the literature on possible moderators of the Shooter Bias was examined. Starting from a description of the construct and underlying cognitive mechanisms, the following variables were sifted: shooter’s ethnicity, training, neighborhood, target’s clothes. Additionally, methodological considerations are addressed. The review concludes discussing the main theoretical conclusions drawn from this body of research, the possible applications on police officers’ training and future developments of the analyzed literature
