Abstract
The paper introduces multimodal (inter)action analysis in social psychology to study interaction. Multimodal (inter)action analysis is a theoretical and qualitative methodological framework for analyzing video recordings of a subject’s actions, interactions, and identity as realized by intertwining gestures, language, etc. The article demonstrates the relevance of multimodal (inter)action analysis for social psychology and presents its theoretical and methodological framework in terms of concepts/analytical tools (with examples), potentialities, and limitations
