Abstract

The essay explores the relationship between legal comparison and history by providing an insightful display of the extent to which the Italian comparative legal scholarship have taken diachronic considerations into account in the discussions concerning methodology in comparative law. Recent historical literature trends are also mentioned as references for comparative legal research, whose consideration of historical contexts and peculiar contextual circumstances are investigated in an attempt to acknowledge the relevance that the evolution of history always represents for legal research in the comparative panorama.
