Abstract
Constitutionalism is subjected to challenges and needs for updating that require a close analysis on the current conformation of state sovereignty in its relationship with the technique and the economic sphere. These relationships are inscribed within the framework of a multilevel and global governance. Such a framework would seem to question the tightness of the models and the categories of constitutionalism. Hence the question: towards a new model? The aim is to analyse contemporary dynamics by taking as a specific case study the ECB, which is conceived as a representative institution of the mentioned centrifugal dynamics that affect state sovereignty.
