Abstract

Big Data analysis for health protection constitutes an innovative and controversial field. It contributes to the redesign of health systems, the development of new digital services and the effectiveness of decision-making processes. Nonetheless, the lack of data quality might alter the algorithmic neutrality, as well as the entire decision-making process, by delegitimizing the work of the decision maker and exposing individuals to potential discriminatory phenomena. This work aims to investigate the use of Big Data in health protection, verifying the most recent potential advantages and enucleating the main critical aspects connected to their primary and secondary use
