Abstract
After the approval of the Spanish Constitution (1978), several Italian constitutionalists have studied some characteristic aspects of the new Spanish system: particularly, the idea of constitutional “transitionµ, the regionalisation of the state, the relationship between territorial autonomy and nationality. Subsequently, the relations between Italian and Spanish constitutionalists have strengthened, creating a transnational scientific community. In more recent times, the main themes of comparison concerned the revision of regionalism, the constitutional revision, the relations with the European Union and the legitimacy of secession.
