Abstract
The article deals with the complex notion of anti-system party, trying to provide for a definition. Political science and legal scholars have tried to classify the main features of an anti-system party, focusing in particular on the relationship with populism and nationalism and on the predominant role played by the charismatic leader. Despite the difficulty at identifying clear models, a brief comparison of the main European experiences may allow to outline a common pattern.
