Abstract
The European integration of Albania represented one of its main challenges in the last twenty years. However, this task was not fully accomplished. The following study will show that the reforms adopted allowed to significantly adapt the Albanian legal system to the Community "acquis" but the weakness of a democratic conscience slowed down the implementation and consequently the integration process.
