Abstract
The history of the reception of Nietzsche shows that interpretations of Thus Spoke Zarathustra have mostly focused on its Dionysiac aspect. However, in this work Nietzsche constantly refers to Zoroastrian symbols and rituals, which reveals that he took a clear stance on historiography, ethics, metaphysics, theology and the dominant Phariseeism.
