Abstract

Two-hundred years have passed since Marx's birth; notwithstanding the great number of interpretations that have been proposed with regard to his thought, the meaning and value of his work in the political and intellectual history of the modern world still remains an open question, deserving of inquiry. This essay focuses on the contemporary character of some aspects of the Marxian analysis of capitalism and on some central concepts of Marx's political theory, in order to highlight its strengths as well as its aporiae.
