Abstract
The paper aims to show how the statistical information on tourism might also be useful to represent others socio-economics phenomena. For this reason, tourism reproduces the change in the behaviour of individuals, which inevitably reflects economic and psychological reasons. However, since tourism is a transversal phenomenon, the official statistical information presents several methodological problems, due to the definition of tourism, as well as the structure of the statistical survey. Finally, we can use administrative sources to obtain timely and detailed information on phenomena not yet measured, for instance, the tourism pressure indicator or the underground economy.
