Abstract

The purpose of the paper is to understand Giddens' theory on pure relationship with reference to his general theory on the duality of the structure. After an analysis of this model and of the main critics by other sociologists, the author studies deeply the theory of the structuration with a particularly reference to the virtuality of the structure (rules and resources) seen as opposed to the actual and not to the real because the pure relationship realizes a virtual structure only during the present of two partners' practice.
