Abstract

In this paper we will approach the study of old age from different spheres in the kingdom of Seville during the late Middle Ages. We analyse their presence in the hospitals existing in the cities, including those belonging to confraternities. We will also study the processes of founding convents by widows belonging to the nobility, and analyse old age from a documentary source that allows for extensive analysis, namely wills. Finally, we will focus on old age in the group of the mulieres religiosae, who were very numerous in the cities of the kingdom of Seville at the end of the Middle Ages.
