Abstract
In this article I will discuss the case of Gomorra from the perspective of some elements that emerged from my ethnographic research in the Province of Caserta. Specifically, these regard the receipt and use of antimafia symbols by the civil society of Casal di Principe in the period, starting from spring 2008, marked by resurgence of Camorra violence and the Italian government's extraordinary intervention in the management of public order. Taking into consideration the experiences of local antimafia movements and their members, I will show how some of Alessandro Dal Lago's analyses could be developed in the ethnography of cultural hegemony by which the «Gomorra phenomenon» is played in this area.
