Abstract
This work addresses the relationship between the internet use - as a tool to become an informed citizen - and the internet-users' civic engagement. These citizens are defined as info-nauts. Their attitudinal profile recalls the figure of a sophisticated and critical citizen. In comparison with other citizens they take part in political action more frequently, being equal the socio-cultural conditions. The young are the most important demographical category among the info-nauts. Their higher technological skills and their different political culture compared to those of the older citizens allow to figure out what the generational replacement is going to bring on the future public sphere.
