Abstract
From an analysis of the electoral campaign for the 2010 regional elections in Puglia, the article tries to explain how far it is possible to speak of a «Vendola phenomenon». The thesis is based on the fact that Vendola's reelection, unquestionably connected to the personal success of the outgoing president, could have been partially facilitated by the format of the rightwing electoral offer. As a matter of fact, the campaign itself seems to have focused on these two main aspects: the presence of a particular type of incumbency and the lack of a strong single candidate for the Right wing coalition.
