Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the reappropriation of the Hegelian figure of determinate negation in the Critical Theory of Horkheimer and Adorno. A reflection on this topic can shed light on a possible element of continuity within the Frankfurt School, identifying the mode of realization of immanent critique that characterizes this philosophical tradition. By comparing the reflections of the critical theorists with the original Hegelian formulation, an alternative path to that taken by the more recent generations of the Frankfurt School may be identified
