Abstract
The aim of this essay is to address the issues raised by legal philosopher Flavio Lopez de Oñate, starting from his work "La certezza del diritto" (The certainty of Law), published in 1942, and compare them with jurist Francesco Carnelutti's thesis. Giuseppe Capograssi's mediation will help highlight the points of contact between the two authors, without minimizing their contrasts, about a core problem of the legal debate - the certainty of law - which, starting from Lopez's dissertation, led to important studies on this matter.
