Abstract
This article aims to reinvigorate the debate over the nature and the role of children’s rights. The argument moves from an historical perspective underlining the fundamental relationship between violence against children and social violence. In particular, the modern model of pedagogy exercises negative influence in European history of civilization and has to be called into question in order not only to take children’s rights seriously, but also to protect society from crimes and conflicts. In the conclusion, distancing from the traditional proliferation of rights’ generations, the A. suggests the special priority of children’s rights over adult’s rights.
