Abstract
The paper offers a few thoughts on a recent book by Giuseppe Guizzi, where the Author has meticulously explored the work of the great French novelist Honoré de Balzac adopting the perspective of Law and Literature studies. The reviewer points out how remarkably the Author has provided a significant picture of the events which are the background for the actions of the characters of the Comédie Humaine, thrilling in his legal features but also historically accurate. At the same time, Guizzi’s work is an enjoyable reading, as the Author has succeeded in combining scientific rigour with an extremely flowing and captivating writing.
